Questions and answers
Hiring a private chef in Guanacaste, Costa Rica
What guests usually ask before booking a private chef for their villa. If your question isn’t here, message me.
How does a private chef dinner in my villa work?
We agree on the menu before you arrive: who’s coming, allergies, dietary needs and what the kids like. On the day, I bring the ingredients in cold-chain transport, cook in your villa’s kitchen, serve at your table and clean up. The kitchen is left as it was.
What is included?
Shopping, cooking, service at the table and clean-up. Transport is charged separately.
How much is a private chef in Costa Rica?
Prices aren’t listed on this site: I quote each dinner on WhatsApp. The quote depends on the menu (a family-style BBQ, a sushi dinner or a three-course Chef’s Selection), the number of guests (minimum 4) and where your villa is. Shopping, cooking, service at the table and clean-up are included; transport is charged separately. Groups of more than 8 include table service.
How far in advance should I book?
At least 24 hours. For an arrival dinner, that’s 24 hours before you land; for other menus, message me and I’ll tell you what’s possible for your date. If you’re traveling over the holidays, message me as early as you can.
Can you cook dinner the night we arrive?
Yes. Arrival dinner: book at least 24 hours before you land and dinner is ready in your villa the night you arrive. Other menus: message me and I’ll tell you what’s possible for your date. How the arrival dinner works
